Cute New Tutorials & What I'm Up To
These past two weeks have been very productive for me concerning tutorials and new items in the Cakes by Kristi Etsy shop! It was a particularly awesome moment for me when a Satin Ice representative contacted me and said they would like to feature one of my tutorials on their site! Ah, the power of tagging the products you use on social media! You can now find my St. Patrick's Day Green Beer Mug Cupcake Topper tutorial on their site here. It's a FULL LENGTH tutorial, my friends!
I have also released a new time lapse video of one of my most popular cake toppers recently- a Dragons Love Tacos inspired piece that you can now view below or on my YouTube channel.
Perhaps even more exciting than all of these things, however, is the fact that I have officially registered to attend and compete at SoFlo (South Florida Cake Expo) in Miami at the end of April. While I am there, I will be taking the opportunity to take a few classes from two amazing artists- Sachiko Windbiel, who will be teaching Fondant facial expressions and demoing hair techniques, and Robert Haynes, who will be teaching gumpaste apple blossoms! I can not express how thrilled I am to be able to capitalize on their teaching skills and add to my cake arsenal. I absolutely never get tired of learning new things, especially when it comes to cake!
I have never attended SoFlo, so this should be a super fun and exciting experience! At the very least, it's an excuse to check out new and exciting cake items that are hitting the market. I am particularly looking forward to Innovative Sugarworks new structure kits and turntable!
